I think making a photograph in response to these moments is another way for me to appreciate either the beauty, the absurdity, or maybe just the overall feeling that it evokes. Hmm, this is an  interesting  question, that are usually two scenarios that happen when I’m photographing: 1. There are images that I have planned out in my mind for quite some time, and making them becomes about opportunity (correct lighting, access to the location, etc.). These images have the highest potential to let me down, but when they work it’s a feeling of achievement, like I won a sporting competition. 2. More frequently, I happen across some object or scene and something just clicks in my head saying “just take a picture of this”.  Sometimes it’s very apparent what that thing is (a colorful shirt or hair) and sometimes it’s something that I don’t fully understand in the moment but then becomes apparent later in the review and editing process (a subtle alignment or maybe an interesting

You have a slight visual sense of that some thing or some arrangement of things will work. So I take a bunch of pics from different angles and see what works with cropping and other adjustments. But some subject matter is obviously killer, so you run around taking lots of photos as quick as you can.
