馃尯 Who are you? My name is Kai Kurist. I am an artist who incorporates geometrical patterns and natural themes to compose expressive artworks.


What do you do? I mainly create art with mixed media, by combining watercolor and ink. My intent is not to create a realistic copy of nature, but rather to work with surreal and abstract elements.


Influences and inspiration: I am inspired by the beauty of flowers and plants, and botany in general. I like to create without a clear goal in mind and find joy in seeing where the process takes me and what the finished artwork looks like. 


馃尯  ¿Qui茅n eres? Mi nombre es Kai Kurist. Soy una artista que incorpora patrones geom茅tricos y temas naturales para componer obras de arte expresivas.


¿Qu茅 haces? Principalmente creo arte con t茅cnicas mixtas, combinando acuarela y tinta. Mi intenci贸n no es crear una copia realista de la naturaleza, sino trabajar con elementos surrealistas y abstractos.


Influencias e inspiraci贸n: Me inspira la belleza de las flores y las plantas, y la bot谩nica en general. Me gusta crear sin un objetivo claro en mente y disfruto viendo a d贸nde me lleva el proceso y c贸mo se ve la obra de arte terminada.

How does it make you feel to see what you know is a good motif for a photograph?  Ypatia Kornarou: Because of social media and the internet in general, photo viewing is a condition we have to deal with every day. In the “age of the image” the difficult thing is to discover qualitative “visual field” invested with an interesting narrative. When finally a photograph can and does contain the elements, the motif that will give it an interesting identity then the feeling is one of surprise and relief about the art of photography. How does it make you feel to see what you know is a good motif for a photograph?  Dimitra Kitsiou: I keep seeing “photos” and “frames” everywhere.  Frequently, I see the “frame” first and then the reality as if everything exists to end up in a photo.  Perversion? Maybe!
