☀️ Who are you? I'm George Tatakis, originally an Electrical Engineer hailing from Athens, Greece, who found a second calling as a photographer. I studied in Edinburgh as an engineer, and as far as photography goes, I am self-taught. I am 42 years old and I also like to play the piano, and I am a passionate cook. 

What do you do? In the realm of photography, I specialize in the captivating simplicity of black and white, drawing inspiration from Greek traditions. My projects, 'Ethos' and 'Caryatis,' delve into the rich tapestry of local traditions and women's dresses, respectively. Currently, I'm immersed in 'Chorōs,' a project experimenting with capturing rhythm and music's essence through still visual stimuli.

Influences and inspirations: I draw inspiration from iconic photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Costa Manos, and Josef Koudelka. Beyond photography, my creative fuel comes from diverse sources—music, art, and life experiences. However, nowadays, literature holds a special place in shaping my artistic perspective.

🏝️ ¿Quién eres? Soy George Tatakis, originalmente un ingeniero eléctrico oriundo de Atenas, Grecia, que encontró una segunda vocación como fotógrafo. Estudié ingeniería en Edimburgo y, en lo que respecta a la fotografía, soy autodidacta. Tengo 42 años y también me gusta tocar el piano, y soy una cocinera apasionada.

¿Qué haces? En el ámbito de la fotografía, me especializo en la cautivadora simplicidad del blanco y negro, inspirándome en las tradiciones griegas. Mis proyectos, 'Ethos' y 'Caryatis', profundizan en el rico tapiz de las tradiciones locales y la vestimenta de las mujeres, respectivamente. Actualmente estoy inmerso en 'Chorōs', ​​un proyecto que experimenta con capturar el ritmo y la esencia de la música a través de estímulos visuales fijos.

Influencias e inspiraciones: me inspiro en fotógrafos icónicos como Henri Cartier-Bresson, Costa Manos y Josef Koudelka. Más allá de la fotografía, mi combustible creativo proviene de diversas fuentes: música, arte y experiencias de vida. How does it make you feel to see what you know is a good motif for a photograph?  Dimitra Kitsiou: I keep seeing “photos” and “frames” everywhere.  Frequently, I see the “frame” first and then the reality as if everything exists to end up in a photo.  Perversion? Maybe!
