✨ ¿Quién eres? Soy Jorge Valenzuela Cruz, arquitecto y fotógrafo autodidacta chileno, radicado en la ciudad de Concepción.

¿Qué haces? La fotografía me ha permitido explorar inquietudes asociadas al paisaje, sea natural o construido. Mi trabajo busca indagar sobre aquello que otorga significados al medio, ya sea huellas, signos o las memorias que van poblando la cotidianeidad. Trabajo con diversos proyectos fotográficos simultáneos, donde además de construir una mirada, voy documentando la condición contemporánea del paisaje, constantemente en transformación. 

Influencias e inspiración: Son diversas las expresiones que han influido en mi propuesta, desde ideas filosóficas como la fenomenología, hasta aspectos vinculados al arte como las vanguardias, el pop y las corrientes contemporáneas. 

✨ Who are you? I am Jorge Valenzuela Cruz, Chilean architect and self-taught photographer, based in the city of Concepción.

What do you do? Photography has allowed me to explore concerns associated with the landscape, whether natural or built. My work seeks to investigate what gives meaning to the environment, whether it be the traces, signs or memories that populate everyday life. I work with several simultaneous photographic projects, where in addition to constructing a view, I document the contemporary condition of the landscape, in constant transformation.

Influences and inspiration: There are various expressions that have influenced my proposal, from philosophical ideas such as phenomenology, to aspects linked to art such as avant-garde, pop and contemporary currents.

How does it make you feel to see what you know is a good motif for a photograph?  Dimitra Kitsiou: I keep seeing “photos” and “frames” everywhere.  Frequently, I see the “frame” first and then the reality as if everything exists to end up in a photo.  Perversion? Maybe! I don’t have preferred motifs, it’s the mood of the moment and the manner, not the subject, that make the photo; and the light.  The moment when what I “see” becomes an image is a moment of profound joy. ✨ Pop Sonality: ¿Cómo te sientes cuando ves un gran hallazgo para una foto? ¿Cómo te hace sentir ver lo que sabes que es un buen motivo para una fotografía?
