✨ Who are you? My name is Maria Baiba and I am a confused, creative mind who studied Photography and audiovisual arts.
What do you do? A large part of my work is creating self-portraits. But also I photograph landscapes or people. My work is united more by my aesthetic and less by the theme.
Influences and inspiration: Studying photography/ film/ art history, it’s very hard to choose where you get your influences and inspiration. Some self portrait photographers that I love is Vivian Maier, Francesca Woodman, Cindy Sherman, Elina Brotherus. But also I am influenced by the use of color of William Eggleston, Wes Anderson, Wong Kar-wai and Pedro Almodóvar. Besides artists, my influences are my everyday life, the people I meet, my place of origin and my travels.
✨¿Quién eres? Mi nombre es María Baiba y soy una mente confusa y creativa que estudió Fotografía y artes audiovisuales.
¿Qué haces? Gran parte de mi trabajo consiste en crear autorretratos. Pero también fotografío paisajes o personas. Mi trabajo está unido más por mi estética y menos por la temática.
Influencias e inspiración: Al estudiar fotografía, cine o historia del arte, es muy difícil elegir de dónde obtienes tus influencias e inspiración. Algunos fotógrafos de autorretratos que me encantan son Vivian Maier, Francesca Woodman, Cindy Sherman y Elina Brotherus. Pero también estoy influenciado por el uso del color de William Eggleston, Wes Anderson, Wong Kar-wai y Pedro Almodóvar. Además de los artistas, mis influencias son mi vida cotidiana, la gente que conozco, mi lugar de origen y mis viajes.
