Andrew Tan: Stumbling across a striking visual motif that would make for a compelling photograph gives me a deep sense of satisfaction and artistic fulfillment. It’s almost a spiritual feeling, being present in that moment and recognizing the poetic beauty and symbolic meaning that could be conveyed through the right image.

In the “age of the image” the difficult thing is to discover qualitative “visual field” invested with an interesting narrative. When finally a photograph can and does contain the elements, the motif that will give it an interesting identity then the feeling is one of surprise and relief about the art of photography. How does it make you feel to see what you know is a good motif for a photograph?  Dimitra Kitsiou: I keep seeing “photos” and “frames” everywhere.  Frequently, I see the “frame” first and then the reality as if everything exists to end up in a photo.  Perversion? Maybe!
