🌺 Who are you? I am Sylvia Arapidou, a photographer based in Thessaloniki, Greece. I studied photography at Stereosis Photography School. I work as a professional Psychologist-Psychotherapist the last 20 years. Sometimes, I use photography during the therapeutic process, as a therapeutic tool.


What do you do? I work as a psychologist-psychotherapist, which is what I always wanted to do. The other part of mysef is art, photography, design and travelling. Photography gives me the opportunity to discover, explore, express myself and staying creative. 


Influences and Inspiration: I am inspired by the work of Philip Di Corcia, Joel Sternfeld, Alessandra Sanguinetti  and the cinematography of David Lynch.


🌺 ¿Quién eres? Soy Sylvia Arapidou, una fotógrafa residente en Tesalónica, Grecia. Estudié fotografía en Stereosis Photography School. Trabajo como Psicólogo-Psicoterapeuta profesional los últimos 20 años. A veces utilizo la fotografía durante el proceso terapéutico, como herramienta terapéutica.


¿Qué haces? Trabajo como psicóloga-psicoterapeuta, que es lo que siempre quise hacer. La otra parte de mysef es el arte, la fotografía, el diseño y los viajes. La fotografía me da la oportunidad de descubrir, explorar, expresarme y mantenerme creativo.

How does it make you feel to see what you know is a good motif for a photograph?  Dimitra Kitsiou: I keep seeing “photos” and “frames” everywhere.  Frequently, I see the “frame” first and then the reality as if everything exists to end up in a photo.  Perversion? Maybe!
